Consumers expect brands to be environmentally and socially responsible. Kantar's Sustainability Sector Index 2023, sourced from 32,000 interviews across 33 countries, assists brands in understanding sustainability implications within their sectors. It provides insights into brand perception and aligning with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

A third of people globally are personally affected by environmental issues, prompting swift behavioural shifts. High global concerns are evident: 70% for 'Climate Action' and 64% for 'Responsible Consumption'. Yet, many brands lag in addressing these priorities.

Sustainability is not just an ethical choice but also a business opportunity. Brands excelling in Kantar’s Sustainability Index saw a 31% annual brand value growth. However, with half the consumers suspecting greenwashing, genuine brand strategies focused on mutual benefits for brands and the environment are essential.
